Carl H Winckler a resident of Tonto Basin passed away on September 16,2025 at the age of 46 years. Carl was born in Casper, Wyoming where he grew up in the freedom of living in a country neighborhood. He attended grade school through 7th grade with a passion for fishing, archery and riding dirt bikes. Carl’s family relocated to Mesa, Arizona in 1993. He completed High School at a Charter High School despite a low appreciation for school. Throughout Carl’s life he continued a passion for outdoor interests like fishing, camping hiking, and photography, as well as his writings and poetry. Carl had many people following him on Facebook to read his writings, sometime spiritual, and gain insight to his world.

Carl was uniquely made, kind-hearted and free spirited at the center, stubborn, and always chasing the beauty of the outdoors. Carl and his dogs Boona and Layla wandered through some of the most breathtaking places, finding peace in nature and striving to do what he thought was the right thing. He worked in several Dental Labs in the Phoenix valley as a Ceramist making caps, crowns and bridges, implants, as well as inlay teeth. The past two years he worked at Roosevelt Lake Marina, loving his outdoor jobs and assisting boaters to have the best outdoor boating experiences for them and their families.

Carl is survived by this Father, Harlan Winckler, Mother, Deborah Julin, and two sisters Carrie Winckler and Christina Arrington, and of course his dog Layla.

A Memorial Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa AZ 85207 on October 24, 2025 at 10:00 am with a reception following at another location.
