Carl William Powell, 82, of Tempe passed away on July 1, 2016. He was born in Phoenix on May 23, 1934 to Carl H. and Gertrude B. Powell. He graduated from Tempe High, then attended Arizona State University where he played football (Go Devils!) He enlisted in the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country. Carl enjoyed football, golf, NASCAR, Ray Bans, Bud Light and was never afraid to speak his mind. He is preceded in death by parents and sister Beverly. He is survived by his sisters Carolyn Weary Lane, Linda Fancher and Suzie Keyes. Daughters Lori Cavenee, Lisa Powell-Niimi, Lana Reinson and Marla Coury. 22 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, and longtime barber, Roger Gill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a glass be raised in his honor. Services have been held.
