Catherine age 77, passed away peacefully on May 16th, 2010 with her husband and soul mate, Howard, by her side. “Cass”, as she was lovingly known by family and friends, died at home as she lived – with courage, grace and dignity. She is dearly missed. Her laughter, her love, her living life fully and her presence will always be with us. Catherine was born June, 20, 1932 in Ambler, PA and she married Howard Johnson on November 14, 1959. She was retired from the Tempe School District. She loved everything creative from quilting, crocheting afghans. knitting, making clothing, cooking and baking. Her dishes and her baked goods will be missed at family events & gatherings. Cass loved to travel, visiting National and State Parks and taking cruises with her husband. She was an Oregon State Volunteer at Bullards Beach State Park for 9 years working with Howard at Bandon Light House. She also volunteered her time making beautiful quilts for Arizona Homes for Kids. Survived by her husband Howard, daughters Linda, Donna, Carol and son Charles (Mike), she is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Her family wants to thank Hospice of the Valley for their excellent care and kindness given to Catherine and her family. Please join us as we celebrate her life on Sunday June 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Fountain of the Sun Recreation Center located in Mesa on Broadway Rd. just east of Sossaman.
