Charles “Jack” Gray passed away peacefully at his home on October 11, 2019, in Apache Junction, Arizona. Jack was born May 8, 1933 in Schell City, Missouri to Charles and Vada Gray.

After Jack graduated from high school, he went to Kansas City, Missouri where he met and married Retha N. Fleming on January 1, 1961. He was an Aircraft Mechanic at TWA, retiring on October 1, 1994. He loved working on old cars as a past- time. He and his wife moved to Apache Junction, Arizona in 1998. He later became a Security Guard at Palmas Del Sol East in the park where they lived. He loved the job and everyone who knew him at the gate called him “Smiling Jack”. He retired after 16 years of service for health reasons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister June and a niece and nephew.

His survivors are his wife of almost 59 years, of the home, son Douglas, sister Dorothy Jean, grandson Elijah, granddaughter Skylar, 3 sister-in-laws, many nieces and nephews and many many friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday October 26, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Palmas Del Sol East Clubhouse at 3400 S. Ironwood Dr., Apache Junction, AZ.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful people who kept Jack in their prayers, to Hospice for all their help and those that encouraged us through this difficult time.  He will be loved and missed by many.

Cremation was handled by Mountain View Funeral Home and Crematory.
