Charles Wesley Hogan, 84, passed away September 6, 2010, with his wife Frances, by his side, in Mesa, AZ. He was born February 6, 1926 in Springfield, MO to Claude and Florence (Coker) Hogan. Mr. Hogan served in the United States Army during WWII in the European Theater. After returning home, he became a journeyman electrician and married his bride of 61 years in April 1949. He moved his family to AZ in 1958, where he worked for Southwest Forest Industries for 31 years. Upon retiring in 1988, he and Frances, moved from Show Low, AZ to Mesa, AZ. They enjoyed spending time fishing, camping and traveling in Canada and Alaska. He loved spending time with his family and especially taking his great-grandchildren for rides on his electric scooter and singing songs to them. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Mr. Hogan is survived by his wife, Frances of Mesa; daughter, Charlene Olvis and her husband, Ron of Hartville, MO; son, Loren Hogan and wife Susan of Show Low, AZ, 5 grandchildren, Richard Hogan (Kim) of Mesa, AZ; Lori Harris (Rob) of Mesa, AZ; James Hogan (Hattie) of Pinetop, AZ; Rachel McCracken (Brian) of Mesa, AZ; Leah Coon (Preston) of Clarksville, TN; 9 great-grandchildren; and many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Florence Hogan and 4 brothers, Reginald, Floyd, Claude (Tad), and Wilson. He was an active member of Desert Chapel United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Desert Chapel United Methodist Church, 462 N. Palo Verde Dr., Apache Junction, AZ 85120. There will be a visitation between 12:00 – 1:00 pm Friday September 10, 2010 with the funeral following at 1:00 pm at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ. Services will be conducted by Pastor Michael Eaton.
