Charley F. Wilcox, born Jan. 26th 1922, passed away at his home June 9th 2012. Charley proudly served in WWII as 1st Lt. in the USAF with 40 missions in the South Pacific, receiving medals and accommodations. Historian for the 494th Bombardment Group, he collaborated in a published book, digitized thousands of individual missions into full DVD with PDF format, fully searchable. He was the editor of a full video history of the 494th, and contributed to many Universities with history majors. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mildred, daughters Joyce McPherson and Bonny Layton, sister Barb Gatfield, five grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
