Cheryl L. Peel (Serrine) passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 24th, 2022.

She was born in Davenport, Iowa on July 15th, 1937 and married Jerry Peel in October of 1954, raising 4 children.  She was a home daycare provider over the years to many children including her own grandchildren, nieces and nephews and after retirement they moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1995 and enjoyed all the sights and activities in the East Valley. They never missed the snow and cold in Iowa.

She especially enjoyed getting together with her friends in Mesa to play card games, coloring in her color books, crocheting dishcloths, taking care of the rose beds when she was able to and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her motto was “Life is short. Eat dessert first.”

She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Genevieve Serrine, husband Jerry Peel, her sister Marilyn Moore, and her brother James Serrine.

She is survived by her daughter Sonja Snyder (husband Larry Snyder), her daughter Cindy Irons (husband Rick Irons), her son Gary Peel, her son Richard Peel (wife Moira Dossi); her grandchildren, Matthew Irons (wife Ashley Irons), Nicholas Irons (wife Elizabeth Irons), Sara Schnoor (husband Mark Schnoor), Lori Lefebvre, Harvey Peel, Max Peel (Miryam Munoz); her great-grandchildren, Jaclyn Irons, Emma Irons, Ryan Lefebvre, Lea Lefebvre, Sophia Schnoor, Madeline Schnoor, Liliana Irons, Liam Irons, Maximiliano Peel, Milena Peel, her brother Jack Serrine (wife Yong Ho Serrine), her sister Pella Fisher.

There is no memorial service scheduled.  Her ashes will be scattered according to her wishes at a later date.

Memorials can be made to her hometown church in Iowa, St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2363 W 3rd St, Davenport, IA 52802, or her church in Arizona, Eternal Life Lutheran Church, 50 S. Jefferson Av, Mesa, AZ 85207.

    cherly and i had been been friends for many yrs. she was the most honest kind giving friend ever had a friend that was like family and friend her kids are like my family we enjoyed our church times our outings cards bingo eating she left a empty space in me for a friend that she was i know shes in peace know and eating her desserts and pllaying cards with her friends ill have so many goodmemeories and some bad but we got thru them she was a happy person R.I.P.my friend in a good place i will see yu again lynda nichols az. her daughter is like her giving a good friend and caring took good care of her God bless yu cherly for being my friend
