Clifford “Cliff” Warren Hoelzer

June 15, 1943 – November 4, 2021


Cliff Hoelzer, 78, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021. He was born on June 15, 1943 to Warren and Ella Hoelzer in Joliet, Illinois. Cliff was their first child and was later followed by sister, Carol, and brother, Roland.

Cliff was raised in Joliet until he was off to college and to pursue his life’s work. He received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and then went on to get his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. On completion of his degree, Cliff moved to Mesa, Arizona to set up his practice and married the love of his life, Joyce.

He lived in Mesa for over 40 years enjoying the desert sun. During his free time, Cliff loved to read and tinker around, whether that was in the yard, gardening, or around the house and pool. In his earlier days he also enjoyed the outdoors: skiing, fly-fishing, tying flies, and hunting.

Cliff is survived by his loving spouse, Joyce; children: Lisa, Aaron, Erich, Bryan from his first marriage, stepchildren: Adina and Matt; as well as his 25 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Carol.
