Dane H. Scott, passed away on Tuesday, September 9th in Mesa, AZ.  Dane was born March 14, 1934 to Florence Hoffman and Hobert Scott. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Robert Greer. Dane served in the U.S. Army directly after graduating from Waverly High School. Immediately, following his honorable discharge, he attended New York State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree.  He then joined the IBM Corporation as a Buyer. He retired after 27 years as a Project Manager.  After, he and his wife Ann retired, they traveled to every state with the exception of Washington.  He joined Cytec Engineered Materials as a Site Services Manager and retired after 8 years. He contracted with Cytec as a Consultant.  Dane, as did his wife Ann, volunteered and held numerous positions in the Chandler United Methodist Church as well within the community he lived.  Of all the myriad of hobbies he had, woodworking was his favorite.  The most paramount thing of all was his family. He loved them one and all.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ann of 58 years, a son Kraig and grandson Nathaniel. He is survived by his three sons, Mark and Bobbie Scott of Sioux Falls, S.D., Terry and Barbara Scott of Chandler, AZ, and Erik Scott of Apache Junction, AZ; 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; a brother-in-law Gene Leslie of North Carolina, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery on Thursday, September 18th, 2025.  A visitation will begin at 2pm in the Large Chapel.  The service will begin at 3pm.  Following the service the graveside will begin at 4pm.

    Uncle Dane was a very kind person who always seemed to have a smile on his face. He seemed to be endlessly interested in a variety of things. He made the most of his life. My heartfelt condolences go out to Mark, Terry, Erik and their families. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all.

    Uncle Dane always cheered me on and called to check up on me over the years. One of my best memories was hie and my dad taking me fishing on a small John boat to lake fish. He caught the only bass and he cleaned and cooked it for us to try. I’ll miss talking with him.
