Daniel Edmund Siaumau, lovingly known as Danny or Dan, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, surrounded by his beloved wife and son.
Danny was born on February 3, 1965, in Torrance, California, to Fred Siaumau and Christina Pereira Siaumau. He spent his early childhood years in Leone, American Samoa, before moving with his family to Palolo on Oahu, Hawaii. Danny attended Saint Louis High School and later returned to California for his senior year, graduating from Banning High School in 1982.
After high school, Danny relocated to Milpitas, California, where he played football for San José State University. He went on to build a life defined by hard work, dedication, and quiet strength.
A skilled carpenter specializing in framing, Danny worked in construction for most of his life. In later years, he served as a security supervisor, a role that reflected his protective nature, leadership, and strong sense of responsibility. He was also highly gifted in project management, bringing organization, vision, and follow-through to everything he did.
In a moment that would change his life forever, Danny met his future wife, Tala Ho Ching, on a flight from Los Angeles to American Samoa. They were married in April 1992 and shared a devoted marriage rooted in love, faith, and family. The couple spent most of their married life in Mesa, Arizona, where they raised their son, Daniel Justin Siaumau.
Dan’s passion was coaching and mentoring youth. He found great joy in guiding young people and encouraging them to grow with confidence and discipline. He loved playing games—especially dominoes—with his siblings and friends, grilling for family gatherings, and listening to Samoan music. He also loved going to the beach. That was his happy place. Dan cherished time spent with his cousins, enjoyed watching movies, attending USC and Arizona Cardinals games, and had a lifelong love for cars.
Danny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was known for his steady presence, strong work ethic, generous heart, and deep love for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Tala Siaumau; his sons, Daniel Bower and Daniel Justin Siaumau; his daughters-in-law, Nicole Bower and Kayla Siaumau; and his cherished granddaughters, Melody Rose, Grace Penina, and Malia Mae. He is also survived by his sisters, Rachel Siaumau and Jo Siaumau, and his brother, Vince Siaumau.
Danny is lovingly remembered by his parents-in-law, Charles and Karen Ho Ching, and his brothers- and sisters-in-law: Fauono and Maple Saena; Simeona and Tusi Simeona; Tasi Ho Ching; Tausagafou and Tracy Ili; Charles and Dolores Ho Ching; Jason and Melinda Ho Ching; Brian Scott and Amy Ho Ching; and Fasi and Tafi Ta’ase, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Danny’s legacy lives on through the family he loved deeply and the many lives he touched through his kindness, craftsmanship, mentorship, and unwavering devotion.
