Dolores Elizabeth Ludwig (nee Dieter), 91 of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2023. She was born in Winfield, IL, and raised in West Chicago, IL. Dolores met James, her husband of 70 years, at Winfield Good Old Days in 1950. They were married in 1951. Together, they raised their family of 8 children in the house that they built in Wheaton, IL, and were members of St. John the Baptist Church in Winfield, IL. After James retired, they moved to Apache Junction, AZ to enjoy the warm weather. Dolores was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend, and Breast Cancer survivor. Her creativity, sense of humor, and love of family knew no bounds.
Dolores is survived by seven of her children; Cynthia (Gerald) Frantzen, Linda (Dave) Koch, James (Beverly) Ludwig Jr, Debra (Lon) Schouten, Wesley (Janet) Ludwig, Donna Ludwig, and Laura (Mel) Baron, her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her siblings Rita (Bob) Klavon, Patsy (Wayne) Meisenholder, Mike (Connie) Dieter, and Sue (John) Kirkton.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband James Ludwig Sr, son Frank Ludwig, grandson Marshall Roy, her parents Edwin and Clara Dieter, and siblings; Jean, Shirley, Betty, Alan, and Raymond.
On September 27, 2023, a Memorial Mass will be held at St. George Church in Apache Junction, AZ, at 10:30am. Interment will follow at 11:30am at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery in Mesa, AZ.
