Dolores Huerta Espinoza, 90, passed into the next world in her home peacefully and with family around, on Thursday January 12, 2017.  She was born in Brawley, CA on March 14, 1926 from Catalina Fuentes and Pablo Huerta.  Pablo was a farm worker and traveled with his family to find work.  The family finally settled in Mesa, AZ, not far from the home of her future husband, Lorenzo Espinoza.  As children they used to play in the street and Lorenzo would tell Dolores to go home and not play with them.

She had her first job when she was 16 years old working at Falcon Field with the housekeeping department.  There were about 40 foreign pilots who treated her very well.  She then worked at El Charrito, a local Mesa restaurant. She married Lorenzo on June 7, 1947 in Mesa AZ and stayed home to take care of him and her coming children.

Dolores is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Lorenzo; her children Marie and Susanna, her brother Albert, sisters Rosa, Concha, and is survived by her children: Lorenzo Jr, Martha, Ricardo, Cathy; her sisters: Juana and Sally; her grandchildren: Lorenzo III, Juli, Jennifer, Jason, Ricky Jr, Karlee, Randy Jr, R. Max and Cody, and 7 great grand-children.

Services and internment will be at Mountain View Mortuary, 7900 East Main Street, Mesa, on Friday January 20, 2017 at 1000am.
