Donald Eugene Eveland, of Mesa, AZ passed away April 4, 2012 due to a stroke. He was born March 11, 1931 in Mason City, IA. Don earned his Associates degree at St. Mary’s College. He had a great passion for the military and thoroughly enjoyed serving our country. He served in the U.S NAVY for 23 years. He also served our community, working for the Arizona Department of Public Safety for 9 years and retiring from the Mesa Police Department as Communication Supervisor. His second home was on the golf course where he was able to earn a hole-in-one during his golfing career. He had a Loving marriage to his wife, Judy, of 61 years. He is survived by his wife Judy, son Michael, daughter Cynthia Berry, sister MarlysThompson, and grandchildren Jennifer, Michael, Brooke, Alex, William, and with a new great-grandson Wyatt. A service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, 7900 E.Main St., Mesa AZ on Tuesday, April 10th at 3 in the afternoon. Immediately following will be a gathering at Cindy’s House.
