Donald William Gauer, 73, died August 10th, 2025 at Hospice of the Valley’s Eckstein Center. Donald was born on October 27, 1953, to Edward R. and Bertha E. Gauer in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Donald graduated from Westwood High School in Mesa, Arizona. He enlisted in the Marine Corp. in 1971 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant and awarded a Good Conduct Medal. He is survived by his sister Sharon Coffinger and two children: Crystal B. Gauer and Jason Gauer, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward R. and Bertha E. Gauer, his sister Helen Rose, brother Kenneth E. Gauer, sisters Jeannie M. Ridenhouer and Kathryn E. Gauer.

Donald wished to be cremated and his ashes scattered in Mormon Lake, he was a cowboy at heart and was a guide for trail rides at Mormon Lake.

There will be a small viewing on Friday, August 15th at Mountain View Funeral Home in Mesa, Arizona prior to cremation.
