Douglas Jerryl York was born on January 24 1951 in Oakdale California to Lewis and Opal York. He died at the young age of 72.
Doug was preceded by his brother Wesley York, his sister Arlene Oakes.
He leaves behind his wife and love of his life Carolyn York.
Two brothers, Sam York and Steve York
Two sons Chris York (Michelle) Brent York(Jodi) And a daughter Christina York As well as eleven grandchildren Bailey York, Cody York, Shelby York, Treah Nipps ,Brianna Gordon, Madelyn Gordon, Cierra York, Meghan Whaley, Hannah Whaley and Sidney Whaley And four Great Grandchildren Luca Polynice, Shiloh Whaley, Cairo Campbell, Cameron Chambers.
Pop, Dad, Doug was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served his country at home and abroad.
He was known to be quite the jokester and all around kidder of sorts. Everyone who knew him knew he would have a snarl and “bite” for all wait staff that encountered him. Any time that we would go out for dinner or breakfast he would want all of the plates to be stacked in front of him. He would then say “watch this”. He has made plenty of people surprised and scared because of this but it was all in fun.
He had endless stories for the grandkids and some great card tricks as well.
He was a great man who was completely in love with his wife. It was so adorable with “I love you more” banter back and forth.
He was a ruthless Aggravation player who would do anything in the world for those he loved.
He had a natural ability to work on pretty much anything mechanical.
It was important to note that he accepted God into his life and he planned on going to church every Sunday. I pray he will be at those gates welcoming us in.
