Edgar J. Hoemann of Mesa passed away at home on Sunday, December 18. Edgar was born to Arthur and Bertha (Baack) Hoemann on February 28, 1924 at Staplehurst, Nebraska. Edgar served in the United States Navy for two and one half years during World War II. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1949. He spent his entire career in the insurance business, and had been employed at CNA Insurance for nearly thirty years prior to his retirement in 1987.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Delores, and two sons, Thomas (Lee) of Olympia, Washington and John of Porterville, California. Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters, Paula Mahler of Mesa, Arizona, Sophie Mailand of Mesa, Arizona, Olga Hartman of Seward, Nebraska, and Della Wiedenheft of Mission Viejo, California.
A memorial service for Edgar will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Christ’s Greenfield Lutheran Church, 425 North Greenfield Road, Gilbert, Arizona.
