Eileen Torgerson, 80, passed away peacefully at Banner Gardens in Mesa, Arizona, on Friday March 6th, 2015 with her family by her side. A Celebration of Eileen’s Life will be held at Christian Care Manor, Mesa, Arizona at 1 PM on Friday March 20th. Services will be at 11 AM on March 21, 2015 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Sisseton, South Dakota. Burial will be in the spring at the Hankinson Cemetery, Hankinson, ND. Eileen Grace Torgerson was born on August 25, 1934 to parents Roy and Edna (Johnson) Anderson in Hankinson, North Dakota. Eileen was the youngest of eight children. She attended elementary and high school at Saint Francis Academy in Hankinson. After her education Eileen moved to Sisseton, SD and was engaged in farming for 31 years. She then moved to Mesa, Arizona where she has made her home since 1986. Eileen loved being with her family, enjoyed traveling, history, reading, accounting and her many friends. Her travels took her to Europe and throughout the United States riding shotgun in an RV with her friends and family. She truly loved Arizona, the hot weather, and attending baseball spring training games every year with her son Leslie. Eileen is survived by her son Leslie and daughter-in-law Terri Torgerson, Sisseton, SD. Granddaughter Christie and husband Steven Smith, Horace, ND, Grandson Ross Torgerson and fiancé Katlyn Kranhold Sisseton, SD. Great-grandchildren Kaitlin Torgerson-Wickre, Brookings, SD, Alyssa, Nicholas, and Sydney Smith, Horace, ND. Eileen was preceded in death by her grandson Michael Torgerson, her parents, and her seven siblings: Joseph, Gordon, Shirley, Bernard, Miles, Vincent, and Dorothy.
