Eleanor Pages Hanson of Sun Lakes, AZ passed away peacefully on July 2, 2013, surrounded by her loving husband and family, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Ashland, WI on May 2, 1927, and spent her youth in Milwaukee. She and her family moved to California in 1945 where she began her business career as an Executive Secretary to major insurance companies. She married Donald Edward Hanson, Sr. in 1977 and their marriage was full of love, laughter, world travel, and many friends throughout the nation. She was a loving step-mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt to her many family members. Eleanor was bright, cheerful, loving, and compassionate. She loved horseback riding, playing the organ, and crocheting and knitting for various philanthropic organizations. She also loved sports, and played in various foursome golf tournaments with her husband. Eleanor was deeply spiritual and committed to her Catholic faith. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Steven’s Catholic Church at 10 am on July 18, 2013 with a Rosary at 9:30 am. The church is located on Dobson Rd. and Riggs Rd. in Sun Lakes. A reception luncheon will immediately follow at Palo Verde Country Club, 10801 San Tan Blvd., Sun Lakes. Eleanor was a wonderful lady and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
