Born: July 18,1946 in Akron, OH to Oscar and Lillian Clemons.

Entered into Eternal Rest: July 16, 2025 in Phoenix, AZ. She was 78 years of age.

Elizabeth, (Betty) is survived by: two sisters. Linda Surls, and Alice Melgoza; her three sons: Dale (Tanya), Glenn (Sherri), and Brian; 5 grandchildren- Brianna (Clayton), Sara Jo, Sean (Morgan), Logan, and Ashton. She was also a very proud great-grandmother to 3 beautiful great-grandchildren. (Maverick, Raelynn, Grayson)

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 50+ years, Delbert, her parents Oscar and Lillian and her brother Charles.

Betty enjoyed a life-long career in banking and finance. Her first job was in 1972 in a basement of the Goodyear Bank in Akron, OH, hand-processing written checks.

After moving from Ohio to Scottsdale in 1975, Betty started working at The Arizona Bank as a line teller. Her long career included additional positions at The Arizona Bank, Valley National Bank, Bank One, and JP Morgan Chase. Her accolades and awards presented to her during that time are too numerous to list.

After leaving JP Morgan Chase, she took her talents and opened her own Financial office with Edward Jones Investments in which time, was named top performer several times, and won several prestigious awards, including the President’s award.

She was also named Woman Business Leader of the year award by the Ahwatukee Chamber of Commerce. After 50 plus years, Betty retired in 2019.

Betty and Dell were very involved in Youth Ministry Programs at Community Baptist in Gilbert, Hi-Way Baptist in Mesa, and finally spending over 25 years with Foothills Baptist in Ahwatukee.

Betty’s family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at the office of Dr Marvin Goldstein in Scottsdale who cared for her for over 30 years, and the entire staff and residents of Brookdale Senior Living in Paradise Valley.

Visitation and viewing will be held on Monday July 21, 4pm-7pm at Mountain View Mortuary 7900 E Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85207.

Memorial and Celebration of Life Services will be held on Tuesday July 22 at 11:00am at Foothills Baptist Church 15450 S . 21st Street. Phoenix, AZ 85048. Viewing begins at 10:00 am.
