It is with a heavy heart that the family of Estella Whisler (a.k.a. Grace) Brandstatter, 87 of Mesa, AZ, share with you the news of her passing.  Estella went home to be with Jesus on February 9, 2022, at Banner Heart Hospital in Mesa, AZ with her husband, son and daughter-in-law by her side.

Estella, the youngest of three children, was born May 10, 1934 in Decatur, IL to Bryce and Winifred (Ferguson) Whisler.  She moved numerous times during her upbringing all over the country.  She attended Tarkio College in MO where she met her future husband, Warren Brandstatter; and they have been together for 69 years, marrying in 1955.  They moved from coast to coast with Warren’s jobs and also started a family but finally settled and spent the majority of their middle years in Oregon, Wisconsin and then retired to Mesa, AZ in 2001.   Estella was an extremely strong christian and loved singing in the choir and music in general.  Just like her parents, she also loved traveling to visit various distributed family and friends living across the country throughout her life. She was always willing to hop in the car and go see family and loved ones no matter how far or how long.  While not traveling, she was always in contact with her wide circle of friends and family.

Estella was preceded in death by her father, Bryce G. Whisler, mother, Winifred (Ferguson) Whisler, brother, Bryce G. Whisler II, and daughter Katharine J. Devereux.  She is survived by her husband, Warren Brandstatter, sister, Winniecita McClave, son, Bryce Brandstatter (Kris), son-in-law, Michael Devereaux, grandchildren Wyatt and Cody Brandstatter, Andrew, Jacob and Zachary Devereux, many nieces and nephews (great nieces and nephews too) and some beloved friends she considered family as well.

Services will be held at Broadway Christian Church, 7335 E. Broadway Rd., Mesa, AZ 85208.  Interment will be at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85207
