Neva Cook, born Eva Geneva Thompson, 80, passed away in her home with loved ones around her on March 2, 2021. Neva was born on September 3, 1940 in Bates Arkansas to Edward and Beatrice Thompson. She was the 4th of 8 children.

After high school graduation she moved out to California with a girlfriend to attend Beauty School (Cosmetology School). In California she met William Cook. They married May 10, 1960 and soon after were the proud parents of twin girls, Ganeen and Ganice. Neva was a stay at home mom for 17 years and then embarked on a successful business career at the age of 36. Neva owned and operated Granco Materials out at Red Mountain Mining that still exists today. After selling Granco Materials, Neva started her next career as a trained caregiver. She worked as a caregiver till the age of 80 after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

Preceded in death by her husband, William Cook, Siblings, MD Thompson, Dale Thompson, Dolores Talbert, Steve Thompson and infant brother Ray Thompson.
She is survived by Ganeen Harstick, daughter (husband John Harstick), Ganice Cook, daughter, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, Siblings Dwayne Thompson and Kathie Sosa.

Neva wanted everyone to know that she had a personal relationship with Jesus and knew she would be in His presence as soon as she left her body in this world. Neva stated, “ Why would you wait to know Jesus until you are at death’s door when you can live with Him now knowing He can be trusted.”

Graveside service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 E Main St., Mesa AZ 85207, on March 16, 2021, at 10:00 am.
