Evelyn Meseroll Obituary

Evelyn Meseroll, born July 13, 1931 in Scranton, PA, passed away on January 10, 2016 in Gilbert, AZ after a short illness. Evelyn moved to Mesa, Arizona 45 years ago from Manasquan, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Meseroll, in 1998.

Evelyn graduated from St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in New York City in 1951, and worked as an RN in long term care for 55 years. She earned the highest respect from her peers and great appreciation from her patients for her skilled care, patience and sense of humor.

Evelyn’s life long passion for reading was expressed through her 10 years of volunteer service for the Mesa Public Library where, after her retirement, she delivered books to library patrons who were unable to visit the library on their own. She also loved to crochet blankets, of which hundreds were donated to various charities and delivered to those in need.

Evelyn was most proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, never missing a special event or birthday. She leaves a legacy of love, caring and healing and will be sorely missed by anyone who knew her.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters Kathi Rafters (Steve), Maureen Longbine (Gary), Susie Markosian (Nick), Karen Jones (Theo), Kim Clark. Sons Michael McDonald (Kathy), Bill McDonald (Diane), Jim Meseroll (Dorothy), Rich Meseroll (Jacqueline), 25 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Services will be Friday January 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home 21809 S. Ellsworth Rd., Queen Creek, AZ 85142
It was Evelyn’s wish that donations be made in her name to either The Mesa Public Library @ 64 E 1st Street PO Box 1466 Mesa, AZ 85201 or to Hospice of the Valley (HOV.ORG)
