Florence Patricia Quinlan Hannum, born February 16, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois to Henry Philip and Irene Patricia Barrow Quinlan, quietly slipped away on November 13, 2019 at
the Red Mountain Assisted Living in Mesa, Arizona.

She shared 53 years of her life with her husband Donald Bernile Hannum. They eloped and were married on April 19, 1942 in Oberlin, Kansas and lived all over the world as he was in the United States Air Force. Donald passed away in 1995. In 1961 he was assigned to Williams Air Force Base in Chandler, Arizona.  After his retirement in 1965 they made Mesa, Arizona their home.

She was a homemaker, and loved being home and raising their four sons. She never complained when every two years they had to pack up everything in their home and move again to another state or country.

One funny story to share, with four growing boys many trips were made to the Post Exchange on base to stock up on food each week. On one occasion, dad was pulled aside and questioned as to why so many trips and such large purchases of food were made. They were thinking he was purchasing items and selling them on the side. He had to explain, “you don’t know my four growing boys, they eat us out of house and home”.

She left behind a loving legacy of 4 sons, three of whom are living, Donald “Guy”  (Pamela) Hannum, Joseph (Rita) Hannum, Philip (Penny) Hannum, 7 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She is now reunited with her sweetheart Donald, a son Thomas Joseph Hannum, a granddaughter Kim Hannum Nelson, her parents and brother Thomas and sister Mercitty.

A private mass will be held at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in her honor.

The family would love to thank the Red Mountain Assisted Living and Staff for the wonderful love and care they gave to our mother over the past 3 years.  Also to Beth Haws, her hospice nurse from Hospice Family Care, for giving her so much love and tenderness in caring for her.
