Francis H. Brophy, 81, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on April 17th, 2025. Born in Albany, New York on September 14, 1943, Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and avid outdoorsman. Frank lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to his family and craft.
Frank spent his career as a respected Construction Superintendent, leaving a legacy of hard work and integrity. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Marie (Chenette) Brophy, and together they raised four children: Christine Hill (Michael), Douglas Brophy (Kim), Lynn Escobedo (Raul), and Stephen Brophy (Brenda). Frank’s pride and joy extended to his ten grandchildren—Frank, Jake, Alexandra, Zane, Ryleigh, John, Cole, Wyatt, Mckenna, and Erica—whom he cherished deeply.
Although Frank spent most of his life in chronic pain, he never let it define him or keep him from his passions. It wasn’t uncommon to find Frank in his backyard tending to his lawn and garden or fixing things around the house. He was often heard to say that his biggest joy in life was raising his four children. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found solace and joy in nature, often sharing these adventures with family and friends.
He will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, strength in adversity, sense of humor, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. The service will be held on April 28th at 1:00pm at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 E. Main St. in Mesa, AZ 85207. Optional: Please join us in celebrating Frank by wearing his favorite colors of blue or green. Memorial donations may be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
I had the privilege of meeting Frank.
His biggest accomplishment in life was definitely his family, he always talked about how much he loved his kids and how proud they made him & how blessed and lucky he was to have Marie as his wife.
It really feels like just yesterday when he sat on my chair for the first time and told me about his life. I knew that day I had met a great person & I sure did.
I will miss you Frank, thank you for always being so kind to me. Thank you for always having a water bottle for me. Thank you for the years of laughter, talks and advices. I hope one day I get to cut your hair in heaven again my friend.
Rest in peace Frank Brophy
Little did we know when we moved in next door that our lives would be so changed by just some visits to discuss the world in general, some Gracie time, fruit picking & history of your lives.
You will definitely be missed by so many! Rest well til we meet again!
Though I didn’t know Frank personally I heard stories from his wife Marie with whom I worked closely for many years. Many times Marie shared stories about her family and especially Frank…when first meeting him I could tell he was as loving, warm hearted and adventurous as Marie described. What s wonderful legacy he has created with his family. May he rest in peace knowing he left the world a better place .
My deepest heartfelt condolences to my dear friend Marie and family. You are in my thoughts and prayers for peace during this heartbreaking time.
