Gaylon Dean Courtwright Hock was born in Sioux City, Iowa on April 14, 1927. He graduated from Central High School and briefly attended Morningside College. He served in the Army Airforce during World War II. On April 16, 1948 Gaylon married Rozella J. Lundquist. They relocated to Omaha, NE where he worked in various administrative functions at ASARCO for over 30 years. He was active in Boy Scouts, the Benson Presbyterian Church, and the John J. Mercer Masonic Lodge in Omaha. Gaylon enjoyed camping, being with family and friends, reading, garage sales, and buying/selling cars and boats. In 1985, retired to Mesa, AZ made new friends, and took several cruises. Summers were spent in Payson, AZ and more recently Lake Okoboji, IA. Preceded in death by his parents Mathias and Bess Hock, son Ronald Hock, sister Irene Pitts, and brother Vernon Courtwright. He is survived by his wife Rozella, daughter Penny Whitmore, and two grandchildren.

A Graveside service will be held 11:00 am. Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Mountain View Cemetery 7900 E. Main St. Mesa AZ 85207.
