George Mahoney

Passed Away on December 24, 2018


George Mahoney , age 63, died on December 24, 2018. He was born and grew up in El Paso, Texas and was the son of George and Ione Mahoney.

He served in the Air Force and had fond memories of being a dog handler in the military. George was employed as a deputy sheriff for Santa Barbara County and also as a police officer for the city of Santa Maria.

George was a graduate of Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo and was the owner of Curator Advisory LLC. He was also a business partner with Edward Elizondo in Elizondo Mahoney Accountancy.

He was actively involved in Boy Scouts with his son and had many happy memories of their time spent together. He was a life long Catholic and active parishioner of St Paul The Apostle Church in Pismo Beach where he was a regular lector.

George is survived by his wife, son, and four siblings. In addition he leaves behind numerous relatives including nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 18, 2019 at St Paul the Apostle Church in Pismo Beach (800 Bello Street).

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Viva Francis Foundation, PO Box 518, Arroyo Grande, CA 93421-0518 or to Miles Christi, PO Box 910331, San Diego, CA 92191-0331. George attended many silent Ignatian retreats given by Miles Christi priests. He was passionate in telling people about the benefits of their retreats.
