Gerald Donald Harris, 88, of Mesa, AZ passed away on May 13, 2026.  He was born in Chicago, IL on May 18, 1937.  He was married to Dolores Ann (Fanelli) on August 6, 1960.  He worked as an automotive mechanic for Ford Motors for nearly 40 years.  Always an outdoors enthusiast, his passions included hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and golf.  In 2001, he scored his trophy hunt with a 7-point antler bull elk which he proudly displayed above his fireplace.  He also enjoyed playing poker and listening to classic Country music, including Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline.  He was a handyman, often doing his own plumbing, electrical and landscaping projects.  He enjoyed taking his family on road trips, often out west, prior to retiring in Arizona.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Gertrude, and his brother Greg. He is survived by his wife and children, Michael (Cynthia) and Daryl (Michele) and grandchildren Nicole (Scott) and Angelia.

 

He will be cremated at Mountain View Funeral Home & Cemetery, with a private visitation for immediate family.
