Gladyce B. Woita Lee

Passed Away on April 22, 2017


Gladyce B. Woita Lee was born October 10, 1921 in Abie, Nebraska to Ludvik and Frances (Holcapek) Hasik.  She graduated from Assumption High School in Dwight, NE in 1939.  Stanley L. Woita and Gladyce were united in marriage in Lincoln, NE on May 4, 1940, and made their home in Lincoln before moving to Beatrice, NE where they raised their seven children. Stan died December 30, 1971.  Gladyce worked for the Home Health Department at the Mennonite Hospital in Beatrice until moving to Scottsdale, AZ in 1984.  She married Robert E. Lee and they made their home in Mesa, AZ.  Robert died March 11, 1988.  Gladyce continued to live in Mesa, volunteering at Banner Baywood Medical Center and the Republican Election Polls.  She enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, reading, gardening, cooking, music, traveling, politics, and was an avid Arizona sports fan.  Gladyce died peacefully on April 22, 2017.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Sandra (Jim) Bruner of Scottsdale, AZ; Lyle (Patti) Woita of League City, TX; Janelle (Don) McNemar of Gilbert, AZ; Wendy (Jim) Groene of Schuyler, NE; Marlyss (Gary) Forman of Omaha, NE; Maureen Boro of Fairmont, MN; and Mark (Linda) Woita of Omaha, NE; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her two spouses; son-in-law, Dennis Boro; grandson, Mark Boro; great-grandson, Finn Moeller; her siblings, George Hasik, Evelyn Dvorak, Norma Stara and Ervin Hasik.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, May 1st, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1244 S Power Rd, Mesa, AZ 85206.

    We were so very sorry to here of the passing of Gladyce. You were all so fortunate to have her in your lives for so many years. We’re so glad that we were able to attend the get family get togethers that you had when Gladyce was in Nebraska. Did enjoy visiting with her and she always looked like a million bucks!!! She was a generous, life loving, fun person. May she rest in peace. You and your families are in our prayers.
