Gladys Marie McGuire (Thomas) 85, born on October 20, 1935 passed away on November 18, 2020 in Mesa, AZ. Marie was born in Miami, AZ and lived in Phoenix, AZ until meeting Clinton McGuire. They married and moved to Colfax, Washington to work on the McGuire farm.
They raised two children, Linda and Steve. The McGuire family moved back to Arizona in 1960 and have been there ever since. The McGuire’s enjoyed several years of competitive are racing with several championships. Clint McGuire passed in 2003.
Both Clint and Marie enjoyed the casinos together and Marie continued that hobby until the end. They also enjoyed fishing together and I’m sure Skipper (Clint) has the best fishing hole already picked out for Marie. Marie dealt with terrible back pain with many operations over the last years and she was ready to be with Skipper.
Marie is survived by her children, Steven McGuire and Linda Betts, her grandchildren Kristina Gailey, April Sheffeld, Amber Whiting, and Robyn Luby. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Tre Burnside, Kingston Gailey, Landon Gailey, Cambria Gailey, Cameron Whiting, Miles Whiting, Sofie Whiting, Gracey Whiting, Shawn Luby, Sydney Luby, Artie Whiting, and Jon Luby.
A funeral service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home on November 28, 2020 at 2:00pm.
