Gloria Gossage passed away on July 21, 2026. She was 91 years young, living in Mesa, Arizona.
Gloria is survived by her children: Debra, Jay (Ann), Michael, Laurie (Charles). As well as her grandchildren: Shane G., Brandy, Shane C., Joshua G., Amber, Joshua B., Devin, Wade, Colton and Breanna. Also great-grandchildren: Ariana, Shaun, Elena, Ruby Erica, Carden, Rhaelee, Hayden, Jon, Jayson, Samuel, Alexis, Jadin, Haily, Treeva, Layla. Also her great-great-grandchildren: Ronen and Arlo, and her sister-in-law, Penny. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Robert, parents Alvin and Laura Best, sisters Betty and Shirley, brother Buck, son-in-law Buddy, and daughter-in-law Sheri.
She was born December 1, 1934, in Ottumwa, Iowa. She attended Ottumwa High for her schooling. She later married the love of her life, Robert Gossage, on June 14, 1954. They were married for 68 years. They had their first child (Debra) in 1956, followed by Jay in 1957, Michael in 1958, and lastly, Laurie in 1961. They moved from Ottumwa to Kansas City, Kansas, in 1966 because Robert’s career required him to relocate. Following that, they moved again in 1981 to Odessa, Texas, for another job opportunity. In 1994, Gloria and Robert retired and decided to start traveling the U.S. in an RV. They visited all of their family and friends around the country and made many memories together. Gloria’s biggest joy in her life was seeing and spending time with her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched.
A service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, Mesa, Arizona, on Sunday, July 26th. There will be a viewing at 9:30 a.m. and services will begin at 10:00 a.m.
