Gloria Jean Ruth Diedrick (Alten), age 75, of Apache Junction, Arizona and Amherst, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, after a short illness.

She was born April 30, 1944 in Lorain, Ohio, the daughter of the late Walter Jacob Alten and the late Elsie Mildred Alten (Carmen). Gloria was married to Alfred John Diedrick Jr. for 37 ½ years before his passing on August 14, 2002.

Gloria was raised in Amherst, Ohio and was a 196 graduate of Marion L. Steele High School. She lived most of her life in Amherst, Ohio and the last 16 years in Apache Junction, Arizona. She was a member of St. George’s Roman Catholic Parish. She enjoyed volunteering at church with the Women’s Guild. She also enjoyed spending time with her companion of six years, Harvey Wood, completing jigsaw puzzles, and collecting bells and elephant statues.

Survivors include her son, Alfred John Diedrick III of Beaver, Ohio; her daughter, Jean Marie Wohlfield of Gold Canyon, Arizona; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

The family would like to thank Santé of Mesa and Santé Hospice for the great care they provided.

A memorial service will be held at Hempel Funeral Home in Amherst, Ohio at a later date.
