Gordon N (Slap) Hollsten, 86 passed away on November 18th 2014 in Mesa, AZ. Born December 13th 1927 in Pontiac, MI to Mayme and Harold Hollsten. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 yrs Phyllis. Grew up in Minneapolis, MN, where he played pond hockey, football and baseball, which was his true passion. He was proud of his participation in the 1943 National Championship American Legion Baseball Team Post 435. Phyllis and Gordon travelled the country for 2 yrs before settling in Mesa, AZ where he continued his passion for coaching and playing in senior softball leagues. He will be dearly missed by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Internment for Gordon will be at the Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
