He had 2 older sisters Eunice and Verna. Hank grew up in Canada, Minnesota, and Washington State. He started working at a young age with his dad and his uncle in the logging business in Minnesota. The family moved to Washington when he was in High School and there he also began working for the railroad. He met the love of his life Juanita Cecilia Colbert (Nita) while stationed in Little Rock, Arkansas and they married on October 5, 1953. They had 2 children, Harold Michael Loge and Nita Ann Loge.
