Helen Arlene Bullerman Hoblit Engelsman, 80, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011 early in the morning in her apartment at the Park Regency retirement complex in Chandler, AZ. Ms. Engelsman, born in Strasburg, Illinois, was a musician and music teacher. She grew up in Lincoln, IL, later living in Atlanta where she was married to Joseph Hoblit and taught choir at Atlanta High School and private piano lessons. In 1965 she married William Engelsman, they moved to Artesia, New Mexico and then lived in Mesa, AZ where she continued to teach music and later was a real estate agent and broker for 17 years. She wrote a book of poetry, “Almost, but not Quite,” published in 1995. Surviving are her sister Ardeth Jean Keck (Jerry) of Flanagan, IL; brother Donald Bullerman (Cheryl) of Springfield, IL; daughter Jan Hoblit, of Chandler, AZ; son John Hoblit of Mt. Vernon Washington; step sons Mark Engelsman (Debbie) of Tempe, AZ; and Mike Engelsman; grandchildren Candace Hoblit (Jason), James Hoblit, Brian Hoblit, Jasmine Hoblit, Cindy and Chris Engelsman, Lisa and Steve Engelsman; great-grandchildren William and Danica Garner; nieces and nephews Jen and Jeff Bullerman and Ron Keck and Krista Keck Chmiel. Ms. Engelsman will most be remembered for her sense of humor, inspired teaching, her beautiful voice, amazing piano talent, her passion for music, life, and her love of animals. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 13 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mt. View Funeral Home Chapel located at 7900 East Main Street in Mesa, AZ. The funeral will be at the same location on Friday, January 14 at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be given to the Humane society (or any pet rescue organization).

    Hey Grandma how is up there I miss u so much and I’m sorry we didn’t have the time to get to know one another more. Sitting here in tears looking at the big picture my dad gave me wen u passed and it’s just crazy how much I look like u. Grams i just wanna say I LOVE U so much and it’s not a day that goes by that I wish I could of seen u and at least spent a day with just me and u well grams I love u and I know ur in a better place and wen my day comes I can’t wait to see u beautiful face MWHAA always and forever u grand daughter Jasmine hoblit.
