Helen M. Lynch Strader passed away August 5, at the Hospice of the Valley, Mesa, Az, after a short illness. A memorial service was held on Sat. Sept, 8, 2012, in the Velda Rose Methodist Church Chapel, in Mesa, Arizona, with Rev. Stewart Lewis officiating. Helen was born on May 4, 1926 on her parents’ farm near Blue Rapids, Ks. She attended Blue Rapids schools and later graduated from Emporia State Teachers’ College, Emporia, Ks. Helen continued her education to earn a Masters Degree in Library Science from Kansas State University, Manhattan, Ks. She began her teaching career at CentralSchoolin Marysville, Ks. and after a few years began teaching at BlueRapidsElementary School, in Blue Rapids, Ks. Her teaching career stretched for 30 years. She and Dick Lynch were married April 7, 1950. She married Jim Strader in May of 1991. Helen was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Order of the Eastern Star, Blue Rapids Presbyterian Church, and Velda Rose Methodist Church in Mesa, Arizona and Velda Rose Ladies Circle. Helen was preceded in death by her husbands, Dick (Arnold) Lynch, Jim (James) Strader, her parents, Carl and Alida Borck, a brother Fred Borck, and a nephew Fred. Borck Jr. She is survived by Mr. and Mrs. Dave Chapman and Mr. and Mrs. Craig Pralle and numerous other family members and friends.
