Forever In the Hearts They Leave Behind

Henry Valenzuela Arvayo

June 19, 1943 – February 3, 2022

Henry Valenzuela Arvayo, an Arizona native, born in the City of Mesa passed away on February 3, 2022, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Henry was born June 19, 1943, to Carlos M. Arvayo and Carmen Valenzuela. He was a husband of unconditional love, a father of absolute dedication, a grandfather of unparalleled kindness, and great-grandpa of endless pride.

As a union man, Henry served his community for nearly six decades in highway construction, building and paving much of what we now call “The Valley” and beyond our state boundaries. He was passionate about hard labor, soft spoken in his principles, a quiet protector to his neighbor, and tender in forgiveness to any who may have wronged him. He was hard as iron, having survived a disastrous work accident that left him with 2nd degree burns on 50% of his body; and another accident which caused amputation of several toes early in his career.

Henry loved football, politics, yard work, and family. On any given day he enjoyed passionately intertwining these topics of conversation with those close to him and strangers he encountered.

Henry is survived by his wife Alice, daughter Nancy, daughter Tracy, son Enrique Jr., grandchildren McCall, Braxton, Quenton, Nikolas, Kameron, D.J., Jasmine, Kaiya, and great-grandchildren Kylie and Bella Rose.

Funeral services are to be held on February 17, 2022, from 1pm – 2 pm at Mountain View Home & Cemetery: 7900 East Main Street, Mesa, Arizona 85207.

“Those we love never truly leave us. There are things that death cannot touch.” Jack Thorne
