Jack Z Cartwright, at the age of 90, passed away, on March 29, 2025 in Chandler Arizona. He was born to John Weaver Cartwright and Minnie Louise Fritz on July 13, 1934 in Tempe, AZ. He was one of nine children. His grew up in Superior Arizona and Graduated High School from Coolidge High. He married Nancy Pace on Sept 4, 1953. Jack graduated from Arizona State College in Tempe, AZ with a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1957. He continued his education and received a Masters of Arts in Education in 1964.
Jack taught school in the Baltz school district in Phoenix for 36 years and loved teaching upper elementary grades. After retirement he worked for Motorola for another 5 years. He also worked for Lanza Publications for over 30 years, while teaching, printing and distributing programs for greyhound racing in the greater Phoenix area.
Jack and Nancy were married for 69 years. His wife Nancy passed away in August of 2022. He is survived by his 5 children Jack (Adria), Dan (Kris), Mark (Lora), Carina and Shane (Kat). He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, which he loved dearly.
In his younger years Jack enjoyed playing racquetball. He also loved garage sales, auctions and Estate sales. He also loved sharing the great deals he bought with his family. Jack also enjoyed and spent many years upholstering furniture and was willing to do almost anything for those that asked.
Jack will be missed by the many family and friends that he touched in his 90 years.
