Jacob Rudolph Hayduk Jr

March 15, 1940 – October 31, 2023


Jacob Rudolph Hayduk Jr., affectionately known as “Jake,” aged 83, passed away on October 31, 2023. Born on March 15, 1940, in Syracuse, New York, to Jacob R. Hayduk Sr. and Helen Krupczak, Jake was a proud alumnus of Jamesville-DeWitt High School. He served with distinction in the Marine Corps from 1957 to 1962, receiving a Good Conduct Medal for his service.

Jake dedicated 30 years as a pipe fitter and maintenance supervisor with New Venture Gear at the Chrysler Motor Company, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to his craft and his colleagues. After retirement, he could often be found on the dance floor country dancing, at the oche playing darts, or spending precious time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn F. Hayduk (née Barry); his children, Richard J. Hayduk, Thomas J. Hayduk, Linda P. Sura (Hayduk), and Joseph A. Hayduk; his grandchildren, Lauren, Michael, Haleigh, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, and Jacob Sura; and his sister, Francis Glessing. Jake was preceded in death by his sisters, Sylvia Lewis and Irene Jordan, and his parents.

Family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by Jake are invited to Superstition Cremation and Funeral Services, 398 East Old Highway, Apache Junction, AZ 85119, to honor his memory at 10:00 am on November 6, 2023. The interment with military honors will follow immediately at Mountain View Funeral Home & Cemetery, 7900 East Main Street, Mesa, Arizona 85207.

Jake’s life was a testament to his values of hard work, family, and patriotism. His enduring legacy will continue to live on through his family and the many lives he touched.
