James Kobie was born on November 5, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, and passed away on September 22, 2026, in Gilbert, Arizona. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dawn Kobie; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Rana Kobie; his grandchildren, Laurin, Cassandra, Stephen, Tyler, and Ben; and his great-grandchildren, Espen, Caleb, Joshua, and Abrielle. An avid golfer with a jovial spirit, James had a special way of bringing warmth and laughter wherever he went. His familiar words, “I appreciate ya,” reflected the gratitude and kindness with which he lived, while his humor could carry everyone through even the most awkward moments. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Services will be held on Monday, October 5, at 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, Arizona 85207. A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The graveside service will take place at 12:00 p.m.
