James C. Davis, 90, of Mesa, AZ passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in Mesa. Jim was born March 31, 1920 in Kalamazoo, MI. He graduated from Boulder High School in Colorado and earned a B.S. degree in Animal Husbandry from Iowa State University (1942). He married Maribeth Avery on July 3, 1943 while serving in the Army at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson. They relocated to Craig, CO in 1946 where they resided for 30 years. He worked as Vice-President and Auditor at the Moffat County State Bank in Craig. After moving to Arizona in 1976, he worked as Vice-President for the Copper State Bank and United Bank in Apache Junction until his retirement in 1985. He was involved in the Kiwanis Club for more than 50 years and served as Secretary-Treasurer for more than 35 years. He was also an active member of the Apache Wells Community Church in Mesa. Jim will be fondly remembered as a service-orientated person who was friendly, caring, hard-working, and trustworthy. He is survived by a son, Bruce Davis of Mesa; a daughter, Diane Davis of Mesa; a sister, Marian Whiteman, of Palm Springs, CA; five nieces; and two nephews.
