James Frederick Kelly, 72, passed away October 17, 2014 in Mesa, AZ. He was born in 1941 in Canton, OH; grew up in Manhattan Beach, CA; raised a family in Torrance, CA and retired in Mesa, AZ. A true patriot, he proudly served his country in the service of the U.S. Navy. He was also a devout Catholic, member of All Saints Catholic Church, Mesa Buckhorn Elks Lodge member, Team Captain of the East Valley Billiard League, avid supporter of the Tea Party, and a member of the Tea Party Color Guard. Fred is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley Kelly; sisters Margaret Greenfield and Barbara Cohen; daughters Cindy Stersic and Cathy Dowell; son James Edward Kelly and grandchildren Joleen Melanovich, Charles Stersic, Samantha Bergstrom, Gina Kauderer and Keira Dowell. He was preceded in death by his son Richard Stersic. Services will be at 10:00 am Friday October 24, 2014 at All Saints Roman Catholic Parish, 1534 N. Recker Rd., Mesa, AZ 85205.
