James Otto Lawler, born on March 26th, 1938, in Beverly, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2023.
He was raised in the close-knit community of Beverly, attending St. Mary’s Elementary School as a child and later Beverly High School as a teenager. His pursuit of education continued at Boston College.
Jim’s life was marked by service, dedication, and a passion for golf. He served his country as a Career Army Officer for over 20 years, embodying values of honor, duty, and commitment.
His military career took him to places far and wide, shaping him into the strong and principled man he became.
In 2006, Jim achieved a significant milestone on the golf course, scoring a hole in one and earning the title of club champion.
Golf was more than a pastime for him; it was a source of joy, camaraderie, and personal accomplishment.
Beyond the fairways, Jim found fulfillment in staying active and healthy. His dedication to fitness led him to his favorite gym, where he spent many rewarding hours.
Jim faced the challenges of life with strength and resilience. He was preceded in death by his former spouse, Sandra, his daughter, Tracey, and his grandson, Brandon.
He is survived by his loving wife, June, three brothers, one sister, daughters Kelley and Shannon, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Friday, the 20th, at 10:00 A.M. at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ 85207.
Family and friends are invited to join in honoring the memory of a remarkable man who touched the lives of many.
