Passed Away on September 30, 2017


James Robert Leslie of Apache Junction AZ passed away September 30, 2017 in Mesa AZ.

Jim was born September 18, 1935 in Sandpoint, Idaho to Robert J. and Eva (Hansen) Leslie. His family moved to Apache Junction in 1945 because of Eva’s health.

Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served with the occupation forces in Germany during the Korean War 1953-1956. After discharge from the army Jim went to work for Magma Copper Co. in San Manuel, AZ. There he met his wife Sue and they were married in 1957. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on December 8th of this year. They had three sons who were all born in San Manuel.

Jim was a mechanic/machinist/welder by trade. He worked for several copper companies and other industrial companies in Arizona and California. In 1971 Jim and his family returned to the Apache Junction area where he remained until his passing.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Daniel. He is survived by his wife Sue, sons Rob, Steve (Joy), David (Terri) Leslie, and six grandchildren: Stephanie (Tim) Huberty, Jared, Trent, Jacob (Karalee) Leslie, Amanda (Guy) Schroeder, and Brittany Leslie. He had six great-grandchildren: Daniel, Grady, and Garrett Schroeder, Kiara, Khloe, and Rico Leslie.
