James Spencer Farmer

Born February 13, 1945 in Nashville, TN

Died Thursday, November 26, 2020 in Phoenix, AZ

Thanksgiving night, November 26, 2020, Jim went to be with his Lord and to have a joyous reunion with his mother, Emma Hollie (Pursley) Farmer, and his father, Thomas Erwin Farmer, sister Nancy Farmer Meadows and brother, Augustus Farmer.

Jim was a life-long, totally devoted member of the Church of Christ.  Although he was not deaf, his parents and older sister were, so he learned to communicate with sign language long before he learned to speak verbally.

After high school, Jim spent eight years in the U. S. Army and the U. S. National Guard.  After his military service, he worked for Coon Brothers Big K as a store manager, and later as District Manager for Liberty National Insurance.  After retiring from Liberty National, he moved to Prescott, AZ where he met his future wife, Debra.  They were happily married for twenty years.

He is survived by: wife Debra Lynn (Roberts) Farmer;  and three children: son James Emory Farmer of Colorado, daughter Necci Farmer Hills and daughter Hollie Farmer Tyler (Kevin) of Tennessee; eight grandchildren and four great -grandchildren.

 

The Graveside Service will be at Noon Friday, December 4, 2020 at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, 7900 E Main St., Mesa, AZ 85207.
