Jan was born in Albion, MI & raised in Concord, MI. She attended and graduated from Concord High School where Gary and she met, fell in love, and were married on July 21, 1962. Jan had a flair for cooking, kept an immaculate house, and was skilled in quilting and sewing. When she and Gary were younger, they enjoyed weekly outings to the local bowling alley where they and their friends were in a competitive league.
Jan is survived by her husband Gary W. Brooks, her brother Darrell Brigham, younger sister Diane Madery, and brother Larry Brigham. She was the loving & devoted mother of Tod Brooks of Aurora, Co., Tony Brooks of Concord MI, Troy Brooks of Concord MI, Toby Brooks of Mesa, AZ, and Thad Brooks of Mesa AZ. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Jan was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her boys dearly. She especially loved her role as Meme to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a spunky personality and always made people around feel at ease.
