Jeannine Sylvia “Geeg” Raether, 77 of Mesa, AZ passed away May 14, 2010 at home with her family at her side. She was born in Seattle, WA, the only child of William H. and Loretta Pauline Burghduff. Jeannine has lived in Arizona for the past 50 years. She is survived by her son, Steven Raether, daughter, Laurel Champlin, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and her cat, Smokey. A Celebration of Life ceremony was held at her home on May 17th. Throughout her life, Jeannine inspired many people, young and old, with her devotion to family and friends and her zest for life! The family requests a memorial donation is made to the Arizona Humane Society at www.azhumane.org and/or The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure at www.the3day.org. Please select “Donate” then “Participant” and enter Tina Raether. She is Jeannine’s granddaughter who will be a first time walker at the Arizona 3-Day in November.
