Jimmie Dean Papenhausen, 81, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013 in Apache Junction, AZ. Born to William and Edna (Hagerdon) Papenhausen on February 12, 1932 in Omaha, Neb. Jimmie spent his early years in the LeMars – Hinton area, going to school in Hinton. He spent 2 years in the Army as a medic aide in the Korean War where he received a purple heart for shrapnel wounds while serving on the front lines. He returned to the Hinton area where he met and married Mary Junille Dugan on April 12, 1956. They resided in Kingsley where he worked for Culligan Soft Water for many years. Jim and Junille moved to AZ in 1982 where they managed apartment complexes in Scottsdale until they retired to Apache Junction. Jim was active in the American Legion and VFW for many years and was a member of the Honor Guard. Preceded in death by his loving wife Junille in 2001, his parents, 3 brothers William, Dick, and Leonard and 2 sisters Betty and Patricia. He is survived by 3 daughters Debra Myner of Spokane WA, Daylene (Joe) Black of Spokane WA, Darla (Tony) Werthman of Cherokee IA, son Darrell (Kim) Papenhausen of Springfield LA, 9 grandchildren Kimberly, Dean, Dana Mary, Becky, Brian, Brady, Cody, A.J., Jeremy, 8 Great Grandchildren Dakota, Devon, Rylan, Hayden, Carter, Bailey, Parker, Graham, and 2 more on the way. Final Interment at National Memorial Cemetery of AZ in Cave Creek.
