John Emerson Cain, 75, of Apache Junction, AZ passed away peacefully on Dec. 29th, 2013 with his family by his side. John is survived by his wife Joan: Children Lisa (Dave) Dickey; Casey Cain; Kevin Cain; Kelly (Neal) Hiett; Eight Grandchildren; Sister, Mary Ann (Eldon) McNutt. John grew up in Bowling Green, OH. He was the son of entrepreneur parents who started Cain’s Potato Chip Company, Inc. in 1936. In 1963, John with his family and parents moved to Tempe, AZ and started a potato chip and snack food company. In 1982 John discovered Dwarf Cars that sparked his life-long passion – RACING! Dwarf Car Co Inc. was formed and he proceeded to introduce the cars all over the country as a new racing division. In 1997 his two sons re-joined him in the company and the racing association. Over the years John’s mission of affordable racing helped to bring spectators out of the stands and gave them the ability to participate in the sport he loved so much. A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E Main St. in Mesa on January 24th at 11 am. A “Celebration of Life” reception will follow from 1pm to 3pm at the AZ Motorsports Hall of Fame, 3534 E. Broadway Rd., Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations/tributes in John’s name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org .
Im sorry to hear john I will make it a point to visit him..I remember goin to aunt &uncle emersons w/Dad & mom..and your daughter ..my dad to suffers with Alzheimer’s more on dementia side..once again im so sorry for yourloss..but can ya imagine the euycher game..SINCERLEY, OBEE JR.
