John F. Coules peacefully passed away on December 13, 2013. He was born on April 17th, 1923 in Wimbledon, England. He is survived by a sister, Chris Mardell and 2 nieces, who still reside in England; Dixie Coules, his wife of 41 years, his son Michael Coules, their daughter Deena Zymkowitz, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He served 5 years, as a pilot, in the Royal Air Force. He later became a U.S. citizen residing in California for many years, spending the last 23 years in Arizona. He loved playing golf, traveling and reading. At the age of 81, he hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. He was a gentle, strong and courageous man; loved and admired by many. A viewing will be held on December 19th at 10:30 a.m., with services following at Gold Canyon United Methodist Church, 6640 S. Kings Ranch Road, Gold Canyon, AZ85118. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, 7900 E. Apache Trail, Mesa, AZ 85207.
