John P. Vincent M.D., MBA, MPH

February 16, 1940 – April 25, 2022


John P. Vincent, age 82, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of Northwest IN, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022 at Mercy Gilbert Hospital, surrounded by family. He is survived by wife: Lynn Vincent of AZ; daughter: Jacqueline (Kevin) Middleton of AZ; granddaughter: Nora Middleton of AZ; sister-in-law: Judy Vincent of AZ; nephew: David Vincent of AZ; niece: Pam (John) Young of IN. Preceded in death by his parents: John W. and Helen Vincent of IN; brother: Dr. Leonard Vincent of AZ.

John received his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine (Chicago, IL). He received his MBA from UC Irvine and his MPH in Healthcare Administration from UCLA.

John practiced orthopedic surgery in the Chicago area, as well as in southern Indiana. He also was a medical consultant and participated in trainings across the United States.

He proudly served as a Medical Officer in the U.S. Navy attached to the 1st Marine Division during Vietnam. He specifically requested to be attached to the same unit his father had previously served.

He enjoyed traveling, reading, hunting, fishing, dogs and shooting. He loved learning and completed two graduate level degrees at the same time. His favorite title was “Papa” and lived for his granddaughter.

Donations may be made to National Shrine of St. Jude at (shrineofstjude.org) or to St. Benedict’s Abbey (12605 224th Ave. Benet Lake, WI 53102-1000).

A private memorial service will be held at St. George Catholic Church (Apache Junction, AZ). Burial will be held in Lake County, IN at a later date.
